Borneo Balut International Challenge @ Manukan Island Resort

Dated September 18th, 2009.

Syabas Team!!
This was one of our best function this year..
Honestly, I was worried and could not sleep the night before.. not the set up or lunch arrangement that i was worried about but the gen set.  Thank God, the gen set worked well throughout the event.

There were 100 participants representing 19 countries from Europe for the challenge.  Most participants are expats from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and other countries in Asia.  Some of them speaks good Malay, Madarin, Thai and other languages too... surprise!!

Everyone from Balut especially the organizer Bent, Ernest, Paul and Ian were so impressed with the set up and services extended to their group.  They were impressed overall.. :o)   Thanks to SSL Team!!  Belows are pictures taken before, during and after this event.  Enjoy..

As a team we can do it... :o)

Manukan Island Resort - A place for all..

Many people have negative perception on this beautiful island mainly because they have heard (rumors) it's over priced and the services provided and facilities are just so so... Well, I always trust the pricing is on par and is value for money with the facilities and services provided. One must try before they can judge..:o)

Be it an overnight trip or just a day trip at the island... you will surely have a memoriable trip out there..

I always like organising and coordinating functions and events at the island.. most probably because I love nature and beaches always gave me a feeling of exotic and 'back to nature' kind of feeling.. Nothing to shout about the facilities and equipments used as all are very basic and we (our team at Island) usually have to be extremely creative and innovative to set up those functions.. and most of the times turned out to be 'WOW' by our guests..:o)

Apart from being an exotic honeymoon and getaway destination, many wedding receptions, corporate theme functions, team building activities outings and others .. were successfully organised at this beautiful island....

To Kaycee

Thank God for bringing us together..

Thank you for loving me for who I am - the Mee Sheah.

Thank you for understanding me - the Mee Sheah who is always in the move and run and sometimes quite emotional..:o(

Thank you for your guidance in many things - to have a relationship with God (heheh... knowing how to pray to God), to live and always be a happy person and never expect others to treat you the way you treated them.. never get angry with anyone. If really angry make sure the anger is gone before sunset..(that's what i leant yesterday or else I will be a murderer)... and many many more.. heheh..

You are always with me even though you are not physically with me but I know..

We shared many things together - Your short vacation in KK was a good one..We both know that we are building this relationship to another stage.. :o)

I treasure our relationship and you are my best friend too.. :o)

I will always pray for you..

I love you Sayang..

Farewell Freddie Coleman

The party was celebrated in a cozy little dining room at Tanjung Aru Korean Restaurant on Friday night (September 11, 2009). The moment shared was really warm, with good laughter and good food :o)

We will all miss you.. especially the nagging and the gooffy laugh... heheheh...just kidding.

Freddie and Auntie Christina brought me back to SSL in 2003. We have been working as a team for more than 6 years and it's like a family .. Freddie is always a brother to me and Auntie Christina is always a mother to me in the office. We had so much fun working / learning experience since Mr Ravi time (whom was our formal GM and he is now our COO for Sutera Harbour Resort) and Freddie time being our AGM...it's so much fun, laughter and fighting during discussion time .. hehehe.. for work only don't misunderstand..

'Kadus' was one of the common words Freddie loves to mention whenever he was explaining or sharing his works, experiences and stories with us. He always mentioned he came from Tambunan and he is a kampung boy eventhough he is half orang putih.

'Ngo ta pai lai' was the only chinese words he mentioned whenever he sees Auntie Christina... and We will all laugh whenever we heard him saying that..

....hhhmmmmm.. We will miss you freddie..
All the best with your new job and look forward to meet you soon.. real soon..
P/s: Hope you like our gifts.. hehhe... try not to let Mia spoil it ya.. :o)

Mee Sheah & family - from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah - Land below the wind

Hi everyone, this is Mee Sheah from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. I just celebrated my birthday last month and I am 35 years old right now. I hope it's not to old for me to blog, which i have been long wanting to do so (never get started).. well, time is always my reason or maybe excuse. :o)

Well, I told myself it's time to start blogging or else i will never do it.. (therefore, Just do it!! from Nike)

A little more about myself and work, I am currently attached with Sutera Sanctuary Lodges (SSL) and have been with SSL for more than 6 years. My work experience with this company has always been 'colourful' - I guess my close friends will know what i meant. hehehe.... Working with this resort management company allows me to always travel to our own destinations Manukan Island resort, Kinabalu Park, Mesilau Nature Resort, Laban Rata and Poring Hot Springs. Not Laban Rata for me as I am too heavy to trek up the Mountain. Shame on me .. :(

Most people know Mee Sheah as SSL sales person that always walk the street selling Mesilau Nature Resort & Laban Rata. That's where I met many travel agents associates and some has became my close friends today (you know who i meant..) I always love parties, love eating and enjoying accompanying people drinking those days (but never like to drink).. ask Auntie Christina if you do not believe me.... Yum Seng..!!

I am a person that believe in working hard and smart while we are young and one of my dream is to retire at the age of 45, where i will have more time with my parent and family by that age. And that is why i spent most of time outside with friends and associates to know what's in and out of the market and what's on for business. I always believe there are many opportunities out there waiting for us to grab.. but most people are just there waiting, not moving or maybe they are still day dreaming.. to me the keyword to success is move fast and act on it!! People who know me knew that I love challenges and I am always in fighting mode..I will share with you all my stories other times... :o)

Well, not just work work and work, I enjoy traveling and always wish to have 1 or 2 holidays yearly.. Hope it's not too much.. :o)

A little more about myself & family, I am currently staying with my parent and 3 younger sisters.

.. My dad and Mom, I have a dad who loves cooking and gardening and a mom who loves cleaning. You be surprised when you see our house :o)

Apart from cooking and gardening, dad loves to read and he is very knowledgeable abot what's on (he always says we do not read enough like him .. sigh!!). He speaks very good english and he is extremely good in georgraphy and history and I guess that makes him a good tour guide. Most guests enjoyed his guiding and he always received good comments and tippings from his guests.

Mom is a very capable and powerful lady, apart from ensuring our house is kept clean daily, she discipline us well, she gave us guidence whether be it work, life, business and others, she manages all our family businesses. She enjoy talking and she has many friends around her most of the time. Some of her friends can just come into the shop and start working for her for free the whole day and she just have to make her famous 'Hainan Tea-C' for them and they be happy. Right mom?! funny sometimes..

.. As for my 3 sisters they love to shop. You never believe how they shopped. I will never want to shop with my second sister (Mei Yee) as she will walk the whole shopping mall and come back to the shop another 2 or sometimes 3 rounds of one particular shop for just a top.. if you know what I meant.. ggrrr...sigh**.. boring! She loves to eat (makan makan), anyone who want to know more on our KK eateries you can always ask for her recommendations. I will get her not to charge you for consultation fees..that's her pro.. people pays her for that!! .. heheh..

.. Pom Pom, she is a girl who set her schedule and work based on her set clock! Very discipline and organize since she was 7 years old (that I can remember..). Mom always says that she does not have to watch her that much comparing to us as this sister of mine knows when to study, read and do her homework. She is a big girl now and is on her first job after graduated from her U. Good Luck Pom!

.. Ping Ping, she is the youngest in the family and is in her college now. She is extremely active in her college activities and her coarse work. But she never forget to allocate time to play too. She loves and enjoy music very much. She self learned Piano, she was on violin classes and she sing very well too. She loves crafts and very creative and she practices recycle on those craft's material most of the time. You will never believe how creative she is!!

That's a brief info on Lee's family. A family with full of noise & laughter - dad and mom are always the listeners of their 4 daugthers stories telling. No matter how busy we are, we will always try our very best to rush back for dinner on working days. Of course Sunday is our family day and we shared most of our stories on Sunday! So friends and relatives, try not to disturb us during those hour and especially Sunday ya..hehe...:o)
